Preparing the Students for a visit to the Museum
Amanda from the Education department and I visited the school today to work with the students. Next week’s topic is “Making Ideas Into Images” and Amanda wanted the students to think critically when viewing the works at the museum. She used a technique known as Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS), which proved to be very productive. They loved working with her and were really engaged with the artwork she used. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture . . . oops?

Here is a link to the image we looked at together in the classroom, using the Visual Thinking Strategies in English and Spanish. The students made many discoveries and had a lot of interesting things to say about the painting.

It’s also on display at the museum in gallery 371.
