Week 2: Making Ideas Into Images
The students visit the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and tour international artworks from the permanent collection that illustrate reverence for ancestors and attitudes about death. They learn how artists have successfully translated ideas into images.
Mari–It is very sweet of you to dedicate your ofrenda to your brothers and sisters. I, too, have two little sisters who died before they were born. I will think about them when I see your ofrenda. Your crib is very fine and delicate.
