My Great-Grandmother

I dedicate my ofrenda to my great-grandmother. I decided to honor her because she was very special, had a big heart, and a strong presence. I didn’t have a photo of my great-grandmother so I drew her picture. Every Sunday she would make a lot of food for the family and she liked to play dominoes. She was very sick and spent a lot of time in the hospital. We were very sad because we knew she was going to die. My family and I went to church and my great-grandmother told us not to cry because she would be in heaven. We will always remember her.

Mi bisabuela

Yo dedico mi ofrenda a mi bisabuela. Yo decidí honrar a mi bisabuela porque ella era muy especial, tenía un corazón grande, y tenía una presencia fuerte. Yo no tengo ninguna foto de mi bisabuela y por eso dibujé su retrato. Los domingos mi bisabuela preparaba mucha comida para la familia y le gustaba jugar al dominos. Ella estaba muy enferma y pasaba mucho tiempo en el hospital. Estábamos muy tristes porque sabíamos que ella iba a morir. Mi familia y yo fuimos a la iglesia y mi bisabuela nos dijo que no debíamos llorar porque ella estaría en el cielo. Vamos a recordar a mi bisabuela para siempre.
