Benjamin’s Ofrenda

I dedicate my ofrenda to my great-grandpa, Edward Carroll. He was a great man who had an impact on my family. He was very funny and had a great time, whatever he did. If we played cards and I won, he would take the deck and throw the cards all over the place. What I used to honor him were things he liked or did. He loved to golf, liked to watch the Minnesota Twins win, and he was committed to his faith. The paper dolls represent his family. The large dolls were his siblings and the small dolls were his children. The doves were his parents and the colors around the box represent his heritage. He was born in Chicago, but moved to Austin after his mom died. I wanted to turn 16 and drive to the retirement home and play cards with him every day, but he died two years before I could drive. I wish he was still here.
Mi bisabuelo
Medios mixtos
Dedico mi ofrenda a mi bisabuelo, Edward Carroll.
