My ofrenda honors my mom because your mom is important in your life. I am putting flowers in it because she really liked all kinds of flowers, and it is traditional to Mexican ofrendas. I am also putting pictures of her life, and a gourd that she made and painted to represent her atistic skills.

I used paper and clay for the flowers. I also used clay for the skull. I brought a gourd from home that my mother made, so it’s original. The pictures were glued on construction paper. She died on June 14, 1999. I was 5 years old when she passed.

Mi ofrenda se la voy dedicar a mi mamá, porque en la vida las mamás son importantes. En mi ofrenda puse flores, porque a mi mamá le gustaba todo tipo de flores, y es algo tradicional en las ofrendas. Además puse fotos de su vida, y una calabaza que ella hizo y pintó y representa sus talentos artísticos. Usé papel y barro para las flores, y barro para la calavera. Traje la calabaza que mi mamá hizo desde mi casa así que es original. La foto la pegué en cartulina. Ella murió el 14 de junio 1999. Yo tenía 5 años cuando ella se murió.
