We are a thrid grade classroom and went on a fieldtrip to the Japnese exhibit. We enjoyed the art a lot. It was awesome to see so many different kimonos. We respected the screens. We loved the paintings in the exhibit. We really liked how many pieces of art there were in the exhibit. It ROCKED!!!!!

This is such a beautiful show! I love the poet scrolls - like an old, old, old school poetry slam.

The screens are my fav though - the bull is amazing!

Thanks for adding comments btw - love it!

If you go, be sure to check out the robe with the giant spider on it. What a wonderful collection of robes! Thank you, MIA.

I hear several items are being rotated in this show. Looking forward to going back in April to see what is new in this exhibition!

We saw the collection yesterday. A few of the pieces moved me to tears -- so many beautiful images. Objects centuries old still seem fresh and innovative. What a wonderful culture to value art in everyday living. How fortunate we are to have the opportunity to view this stunning collection at our hometown museum.

Saw a mention of the Arts of Japan show on Japan Media Midwest blog.

Can't wait!
