Artists Choose was an exhibition of six women's work. Many characteristics unique to the feminist arts exist in the work seen in Artists Choose. The context is personal and the revelation of it is dramatic. Each artist is conscious of her feminist concerns, but addressed herself to them in varying degrees. This, too, is evident in the work. It was more than a common sex or experience that brought these women together in the opinion of their peers. It was the manner of expressing those personal statements that gave cohesiveness to the group. There is a juxtaposition of serene images with complex concerns.
