Jeff Millikan’s photo-installation Dark Illuminations revealed the shadow side of human relationships. Based on a series of architectural chambers, the exhibition had a sequence of back-lit windows, each framing photo transparencies of various figures. The strange interiors included nocturnal scenes of human life and “Our Dining Room Was a Sinking Ship,” complete with portholes and a table set with the family china.
