Artists: Lou Ferreri, Stuart Mead and Jean Murakami
May 22 – July 3, 1988

An exhibition of drawings by Lou Ferreri and paintings by Stuart Mead and Jean Murakami. Filled with fictional figures and environments, Ferreri’s recent drawings explore the politics of family, religion, government and society. Stuart Mead investigates the tension of seemingly normal or harmless situations in his dramatic paintings of people captured in particular moments of interaction. Virtually absent of color, Murakami’s new paintings are filled with frightening characters that confront the viewer with the question: how does one stay out of the black hole of devouring one’s self?
