MAEP Policies
From Minnesota Artists Exhibition Program
[edit]
MAEP Membership
- Any person who says that he or she is a visual artist is regarded as such; she or he will be identified on the MAEP's roster (mailing list), submit exhibition proposals for panel consideration, and vote at the Annual Meeting. Any visual artist who lives in Minnesota may participate in the program as previously described.
[edit]
Artist Panel Meetings
- Artist Panel meetings are not open to the artist community at large.
- The voting record of individual panelists will remain confidential; only the majority opinion shall be public knowledge. This will prevent misinterpretation and assumptions made by others without the benefit of background discussion. The acceptance or rejection of each proposal shall be communicated to the artists involved either orally or in writing by the Program Coordinator only. Specific comments regarding such outcomes may be made only by the panelists, who will be speaking on their own behalf. The Program Coordinator may provide telephone numbers or mailing addresses of the panel members.
[edit]
Mailing List
- Requests for the MAEP mailing list must be made in writing to the Program Coordinator and include a copy of the piece to be distributed with the list. The Coordinator will determine the appropriateness of each request. Users will pay the computer fee and postage. Since the list is generated from a confidential questionnaire, users may not copy it under any circumstance. It is available only if they can demonstrate that their project is of general benefit to the artist community. Users may, on occasion, be required to affix the MAEP labels to their mailing at the MAEP offices. Problematic requests may be reviewed by the Artist Panel to best preserve the interests of the artist community. The Aritst Panel provides the MAEP's artistic direction by selection exhibitions. The Program Coordinator, who is responsible for implementing these exhibitons, may request a policy decision from the panel, but administration, fiscal management, programming, and exhibition management are solely the Coordinator's responsibility.
