Artists: Diane Katsiaficas and Marilyn R. Andersen
July 10 – September 7, 1986
An exhibition of constructed environments by Diane Katsiaficas and temporary wall installations by Marilyn R. Andersen. Diane Katsiaficas combines scavenged natural and manufactured materials to create installations of architectural scale. She confronts the viewer with images, objects, sounds and materials which conjure personal and public narrative. Her environments are infused with historical and cultural meaning and allow for a “portage from instinct to intellect. Marilyn R. Andersen utilizes collected art parts and found objects to create site-specific and often temporary wall drawings/installations. She is concerned with the process and residue of interactions - whether they be among creatures, land, wind or time.
