Sin and Guilt
From Minnesota Artists Exhibition Program
Artist: Nancy Robinson
April 1 - May 31, 2009
MAEP Galleries
The body, for many women, is a personal battleground. A thing to revile, pamper, and over-scrutinize. A thing to pluck, pull, stuff and slather with paint to attract a mate or at least a little attention. Nancy Robinson’s vivid paintings in Sin and Guilt explore the complex relationship we have with our bodies, sexuality, and unmeetable expectations. Her visual language incorporates fairy tales and myth creating paintings that are complex, dark, and humorous.
Shown concurrently with Holy Land.
